The Youth and Adolescent Relationships (YAR) lab at Eastern Michigan University investigates the development of friendships, dating relationships, and familial relationships among adolescents and emerging adults. Broadly, we are interested in:
- Development of coping and social support during adolescence and emerging adulthood in the context of close relationships
- Relations between body-related conversation (e.g., fat talk) and body image, as well as eating behaviors
- Attachment security in relation to social and psychological adjustment
The YAR lab currently investigates body image concern expression among mothers and daughters. To participate in ongoing research, please contact: parentteenstudyemu@gmail.com
